Mark 6:34
Jesus had compassion on the crowds. We know the passage as the 'feeding of five thousand', this only accounted for men. When we consider women and children the figure is more like 18-20 thousand. This wasn't the only occasion we are told Jesus had compassion. This was always present in his ministry.
Who's compassion was Jesus expressing? God's compassion!
We need to have this same compassion within us toward people around us, who are still often 'like sheep without a shepherd'.
Our hearts need to beat in time with the pulse of God's heart.
